Agriculture and livestock
The municipality of Zeta, located in the fertile plain south of Podgorica, has always been the heart of Montenegrin agriculture. Its rich landscape, spacious fields, numerous streams and mild climate create ideal conditions for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry. Here, the land breathes together with the people - traditions are passed down from generation to generation, and working in the fields and caring for farm animals is more than a job - it's a way of life.
Zeta farmers are known for growing high-quality vegetables, fruits and grains. Watermelon, tomato, pepper and corn plantations that feed both the local population and the wider market are particularly noteworthy. In addition, animal husbandry has an important place - the breeding of cattle, sheep and goats is based on natural grazing and traditional methods, which contributes to the high quality of meat and dairy products.
Zeta does not renounce its heritage, but proudly combines it with modern approaches – more and more young people are returning to the land, investing in modern farms and greenhouses, opening up new space for progress.
In Zeta, one lives in harmony with the land, and the best is extracted from it - with respect, knowledge and love.

Villages
Villages of the Municipality of Zeta – the heart of the plain, the soul of the people
The municipality of Zeta, located in a fertile valley between Lake Skadar and the capital, preserves the silence, tradition, and beauty that are increasingly difficult to find in the modern world. Its villages are peaceful, yet lively – warm in people, rich in land, and deep in history.
From Golubovac, through Mataguž, Mahala, Bijelo Polje, Kuril, to Vranjina and many others, every village in Zeta has its own stories, customs and values. In those villages, you can still hear a song along with the work, the smell of homemade bread, and a greeting from the gate. People are hospitable, connected, ready to help each other, and the land rewards them for their efforts through fertile fields and peaceful pastures.
The villages of Zeta are the center of agriculture and animal husbandry in Montenegro - most of what ends up on the Montenegrin table is born here. But they are more than that: they are places where identity, language, religion and customs are preserved. Here, baptisms are celebrated, cakes are made according to old recipes, and stories of ancestors are cherished, which still echo under the old roofs.
Zeta is not just a space – it's a sense of belonging. Her villages are the heart of that feeling: modest but strong; quiet, but full of life.
